Description

This mosaic is inspired by the rich tradition of Cosmatesque design, a geometric style that flourished in Medieval Italy under the artistry of the Cosmati family. The piece is distinguished by its unique circular shape, echoing the large roundels often found in historic basilicas and church floors. Within the circle, a vivid geometric tapestry emerges, crafted through precisely inlaid natural stones of deep green, earthy brown, and warm gold, colors reminiscent of ancient marbles used by Cosmatesque artisans.

The intricate pattern is formed by interlocking stars, many six-pointed, evoking the motif of the Star of David and suggesting interconnected symbolism across cultures. Smaller triangles repeat throughout, linking each star to its neighbors in a seamless network. This layered, harmonious structure creates a captivating sense of movement and infinity, while the round frame grounds the pattern in a traditional context.

Creation

In collaboration with mosaic artists, historians, and designers, we create works that unite antique and contemporary sensibilities, rich with color and emotion.

The process starts with natural stone like marble, granite, limestone, onyx, and travertine—never colored or dyed. Hand‑cut into tesserae, every piece is arranged with patience, artistry, and mastery of ancient craft. After weeks, months, or even years of meticulous craftsmanship, each mosaic is completed with a refined frame, ready for effortless display.
