Cosmatesque Stars

from $750.00

This polychrome, richly colored stone mosaic is inspired by cosmatesque design. It is a geometric style that originated in Medieval Italy, particularly in Rome, after the “Cosmati” family. They developed these designs with stone and glass inlay over generations in Italy. Much of their work was completed on and can still be found on church floors, large friezes, columns and so on in different basilicas.
