Raging Bull
Alexander Aboutaam
Details
Polychrome Stone Tesserae
2025
23 x 23 in (58 x 58 cm)
Description
Alexander Aboutaam imagines what a raging bull would like in an abstract form. The profile view of the surging is beast is most easily noticed when the viewer catches the eye at the top center of the piece. Its left leg stretches to the bottom right corner and the right leg curls back in a running motion. The natural red and yellow tones represent anger and strife in this abstract world. Built from ancient, it is a testament to tradition and visually stunning for contemporary spaces. However, Aboutaam invites everyone to create their own perspective.
The overall composition is defined by sweeping, intersecting curves and sharply angled planes. These shapes overlap and weave through one another, suggesting movement and architectural structure. The black frame encases the work, concentrating the viewer’s focus on the interplay of color, form, and movement within the pictorial field.
